After Injuring SOG Man, Declining to Surrender; Forces Killed Detainee in Tral

Srinagar 03 June (KNB): A detained person arrested by police some days ago in Tral was shot dead after he did not pay any heed to the requests of putting down a weapon, which he had snatched from SOG man in custody, as per an official.  

The official confirmed that the weapon was snatched from a police personnel and was injured following the opening of a fire upon him by the detainee, who has been identified as Mohammad Amin Malik from Tral. 

Following the incident, police said that the detainee ran towards the generator room and did not come out even after requesting him. The detainee’s family was also brought to the spot to persuade him to surrender, but refused to do the same. 

As per police, the detainee later on fired upon the forces which triggered a gunfight in which Malik got killed. The official said that Malik was a Pak trained militant who had surrendered and was apprehended for questioning some days ago. (KNB)
