Srinagar receives 7.5 inches of snow till 8:30 am; 1-2 feet snowfall over higher reaches; MeT rules out any major rain, snow till Feb’s end

Srinagar 23 February (KNB): The Meteorological department Srinagar on Wednesday said that there would be a significant improvement in current weather in J&K from Wednesday evening with “gradual decrease” in snowfall expected from today afternoon.
The official in the latest weather update said that there has been moderate to heavy rain and snow in J&K, with very heavy snow occurring at most places of J&K. It was further said that the higher reaches reported 1-2 feet of snow and thunderstorms in Jammu region.
Following the relentless snowfall in the valley, especially Srinagar receiving it from the last mid-night, the weatherman said that 7.5 inches of snow were recorded in Srinagar till 8:30 am today.
“We expect gradual decrease in rain and snow from today afternoon and significant improvement from evening. Overall improvement is most likely from 24th onwards,” said the official.
It was also said that there would be no major snowfall and rainfall till the end of February in J&K. (KNB)
