Srinagar 23 October (KNB): PDP leader and former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in a press conference held at her residence said that the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was taken illegally and if the same would have been done through a legal procedure- which of course wasn’t possible- it would have been one thing but they robbed us and didn’t even care about the promises that were made to the people of Kashmir.

She said, “I know the people of J&K are facing hardship, I am well aware and want to send a clear message to everyone, that no matter how powerful a thief is, how vicious a looter is, eventually they have to return all that they took from the people in one way or the other.”

“The great theft that took place in 2019 (abrogation of article 370), had nothing to do with the constitution of India and was a pure loot,” she said.

She said that their (BJPs) words change as per their needs; likewise they are again bringing up the topic of 370 to get more votes. They have failed to improve the status of India on global platform in fact economically, are lagging behind Bangladesh now.

She emphasized, “Our fight of course is to bring back the special status but also to resolve the Kashmir issue”.

“They’ve nothing to show to ask for votes. They say you can buy land in J&K, we’ve abrogated Article 370. Then they said they will give free vaccines. Today PM Modi had to speak of Article 370 for votes. This govt. has failed to solve the issues of this nation,” she said.

“We had acceded to a liberal, democratic India but now this nation isn’t the same and we are not comfortable with It.”, she said.

She further said, “They are misguided that we will forget or will not fight, its time for the leaders to give their blood to the cause, after all, the youth of Kashmir has given enough blood and I’ll be the first one to do it”.

She said that the mess BJP has created in India, polarized people, looting Kashmiris, laws against minorities, Muslims and farmer, is nothing but an attempt to replace the constitution of India with their (BJP) manifesto. Their efforts to divide the people of J&K and create division among the regional parties have all gone to vain, she said.

“My stand is not only for bringing back the special status of J&K but also for the resolution of Kashmir,” she claimed. (KNB)
