Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Defends Administrative Transfers in J&K, Cites Constitutional Framework

Srinagar 04 April(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has defended his recent administrative transfer decisions, stating they align with the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. Sinha emphasized he’s acted within the constitutional framework and hasn’t overstepped his boundaries.

I want to make it absolutely clear — the Parliament passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act in 2019, and I have acted entirely within the domain defined by that Act,” Sinha said. He further said that he has never overstepped his constitutional boundaries and assured that he would never do so in the future. “I am fully aware of my jurisdiction and responsibilities. I have never violated them, nor will I ever do so,” the LG added.

Sinha also promised not to violate these boundaries in the future. This statement comes after criticism over a series of transfers that alliance parties have condemned, citing an infringement on democratic norms.(KNB)
