Srinagar 07 April(KNB): Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, Director of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Jammu and Kashmir, made a significant visit to Azadpur Mandi in Delhi on April 7, 2025. His mission aimed to strengthen market connections for local growers and traders.
Zargar interacted with buyers, commission agents, and stakeholders to discuss pressing issues, including transportation challenges and promoting transparent trade practices.
The director emphasized the importance of conducting online trade through the e-NAM portal, enhancing the efficiency of transactions between J&K growers and traders.
A key focus was creating market linkages between local growers and outside buyers, particularly through buyer-seller meets. This initiative aims to boost the state’s horticulture sector.
Zargar held a marathon meeting with the Kashmir Apple Merchants Association (KAMA), highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance market access.
The director also visited the Deputy Director’s office at Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, to assess the functioning of Kishan Ghar and the progress of developmental works in the extension block.
