The students alleged that Kashmir University is taking their examination offline, which they claim is against the guidelines of UGC to conduct online examinations. “Our only demand is that if the UGC has given guidelines for taking online examinations which are being followed by the Jammu University also then why Kashmir University has issued the date sheet of offline examination,” said one of the female protesting students.

She further said that their date sheet was issued without informing the class representative. “In this severe ongoing winter, we are not ready for the offline examination. We are already suffering from the mental disturbance due to the Covid19 and have not learned enough due to online studies,” she added that their online class would also disrupt due to the slow speed of 2G and hence taking a heavy toll on their education.

The protesting students raised slogans: “We want justice”,  “We want online exams”, and they also went against their department with the slogans of Law Department Jaag Jao; Kashmir University Jaag Jao, whereas some of the other cross students were holding placards reading: Students lives matter in the pandemic, Online exam pattern.

However, protesting students also claimed that conducting offline examination is the violation of UGC/BCI’s prescribed guidelines for holding online examination during the Covid19. They also demanded that their examinations should be taken online as per the guidelines of  UGC and BCI. (KNB)
