During a press conference in Srinagar, Hussain emphasized that for the first time in the history of elections, not even a single law and order incident was reported.
He said, “That after a gap of 70 years, democracy has finally won in J&K.”

BJP’s National Spokesman said that the recently concluded DDC polls will be depicted by golden words in the election history of India.
He claimed that there were no complaints from any party or BJP.

Former Union Minister said that it was for the first time such a large number of people participated in the elections which indicates victory of democracy in the UT.
“There were long queues outside polling stations everywhere, except for a few places. It signifies that democracy has finally won in Kashmir,” He said.

He further informed that the purpose for holding the press conference is to announce that this time, BJP will make it’s difference felt.

“Let the DDC poll result come out, whether we would be able to defeat others or not, but one thing I want to make crystal clear that the party will surely defeat Congress in Jammu and Kashmir,” Shahnawaz Hussain said, adding that Congress party is a sinking ship in the nation.

Shahnawaz Hussain travelled extensively to almost all the DDC constituencies J&K in the past few weeks as part of the campaigning.

BJP’s National Spokesperson said that three parties contested DDC Polls in J&K—PAGD, which he referred as “Gupkar Gang”, Congress and the BJP.
“We contested on 80 seats and on the remaining 200 we supported independent candidates,” said Hussain.

Former Union Minister said that the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapyee’s dream of Kashmiriyat, Insaniyat and Jamhoriyat has come true, as DDC polls have shown that democracy is the backbone of Kashmiriyat and Insaniyat.

Based on the feedback Hussain has received from ground zero, he said that in the DDC poll results, voting share of BJP would be up.

“Gone are the days when our voting share in polls used to be 1.9 or 1.2 per cent, You all will witness the difference, let DDC results come out,” he asserted.

Regarding the restoration of 4G Internet services, the BJP national spokesman commented, “hopefully, very soon, 4G will be restored in J&K.”

When asked about the ED’s recent move to attach Rs 11.5 crore worth of property of National Conference chief Dr Farooq Abdullah and NC’s asserting that it was a political vendetta, the BJP National Spokesman said, “Agencies are doing their job independently and it’s not good to link them with politics.”

He added that corruption has nothing to do with politics or any vendetta and those facing corruption charges can go to the court and clarify their stand there. (KNB)
