Kashmir Records Above Freezing Temperature; MeT Predicts Wet Spell

Srinagar 20 February (KNB): Temperatures risen in Kashmir ahead of wet weather forecast predicted by the meteorological department for the next week.

Officials said that mercury was recorded above freezing point across the valley as Srinagar recorded 3.6 degrees Celsius last night.

As per the official data, the gateway town Kashmir, Qazigund recorded 1.0 degree celsius last night, where as temperatures in famous tourist resort of the valley Pahalgam, was recorded at 1.2 degrees celsius.

Moreover officials said that in world famous Skiing resort Gulmarg, temperature was recorded at 0.0 degrees celsius against the minus 3.0 degrees celsius which was recorded on the previous night.

As per the data, minimum temperature recorded in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was 1.2 degrees celsius and in Kokernag, 1.8 degrees celsius of temperature was recorded during the night.

Furthermore, MeT officials said that light to moderate rain/snowfall is likely to take place across the valley during this weekend, with probability of further weather activity thought out the following week. (KNB)
