JKAACL organises Shabad Kirtan & Punjabi Kavi Dabar at Chatti Singh Pura Anantnag

Anantnag 05 July (KNB): A programme of Punjabi Kavi Durbar and Shabad Kirtan was organized by Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) today under the guidance of Bharat Singh JKAS, Secretary JKAACL, in the premises of Gurduwara Singh Sabha Samundri Hall Chitthi Singh Pora in district Anantnag in connection with the celebrations of Birth anniversary of Guru Hargobind Sahib.

JKAACL in a handout issued to KNB said , The senior most citizen and well known intellectual S. Nanak Singh Bedi, President DGPC Anantnag,Master Rajinder singh ,Giani Rajinder Singh a renowned Sikh personality
and hundreds of devotees were present in the programme.Popinder Singh Paras, Editor,
Sheeraza Punjabi & Incharge Programme was also present on this occasion.

Budding Punjabi poets presented their poetry on different issues of society and life situations in the contemporary world.The Gurbani Shabad Kirtan was presented by local Ragis Bhai Ravinderpal Singh & Jatha,Gurdeep Singh & Jatha and Surinder Singh & Jatha.

Darbar included Ramandeep Kour, Gurpreet Kour, Sunpreet Kour, Sukhpreet Kour, Manmeet Kour,
Navleen Kour, Arunjeet Kour, Jagandeep Singh, Simranpaul Kour, Mandeep Kour, Gurpreet Kour.
Mandeep Kour, Simranjeet Kour, Surjeet Kour, Gurleen Kour, Lovepreet Singh, Jaspreet Kour,
Jagpreet Singh, Rohanpreet Singh Samarpreet Singh, Sanmeet Kour, Manmeet Singh, Harleen Kour,Varinder Kour, Amritpal Singh etc.

Giani Rajinder Singh the renowned Sikh personality of the area appreciated the efforts
made by the Academy to take care of the regional languages. He said that JKAACL has played a vital role in the betterment of regional languages including Punjabi, one of the prominent languages spoken in every corner of the world. He also elaborated that JKAACL has organized mirthful programme here in Chitthi Singh Pora Anantnag to boost the new budding generation i.e. poets and artists who have been working from last many decades for the betterment of Punjabi language and literature.

He emphasized on the need of using Punjabi as Mother Tongue at family level. He appreciated the participation and presentation of poetry by the new and young writers.


In his address Popinder Singh Paras said that Cultural Academy plans to hold such literary
and Cultural activities at various places in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that
JKAACL provides platform to new budding poets/ artists so that the cultural diversity of the region
remains alive among the new talented generation. He added that the priority has been given to organize such programmes at different far flung areas of J&K where rich traditional folk is available.


The proceedings of the programme were conducted by S. Ravinderpal Singh Secy, GC
Chitthi Singh Pora .
