Srinagar 17 September (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress (JKYC) on Friday staged a protest in the Press Enclave and raised slogans against PM Narendra Modi for not keeping his promise related to the elimination of unemployment from J&K.

Scores of protesters from JKYC assembled in the premises of Press Enclave and raised slogans in favour of the Indian National Congress while at the same time were fuming with anger at PM Modi’s failure to provide employment for the youth of J&K.

J&K Youth Congress Vice President during the protest said to the reporters that as it is the birthday of PM Narendra Modi today, the J&K Youth Congress is observing the same as Unemployment Day. “When the Modi government came into force in 2014 elections, he had made a promise at that time and after that of creating 2 Crore employment per year, but unfortunately the youth has been grounded since this government came into existence,” said JKYC Vice President.

He also pointed out the failures of the Modi government during the pandemic and said that even after the abrogation of Article 370 the promises were made by the centre of providing 50,000 jobs for the youth.

VP JKYC further said that even after the more than two years of abrogation of 370, the jobs are not being provided, but in turn are snatched from the people.

He also said that since the Modi government has come into existence, anti-youth policies are being adopted here.

Replying to a question of a reporter, VP JKYC said that Modi is running an Adani and Reliance government and those not supporting the BJP-led central government are being suppressed. (KNB)
