JK Govt Orders Reconstitutions of Standing Committee For Naming of Govt Schools/Colleges/Roads after Martyrs, Eminent Personalities

Srinagar 07 September (KNB): Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday ordered for the reconstitution of a standing committee for naming of Government Schools/Colleges/Roads after Martyrs and Eminent personalities. 

The order lying with KNB reads that “In supersession of Government Order No. 595-JK(GAD) of 2000 dated 26.05.2000, the Committee for making recommendations on the representation/proposals for installation of statues/memorial plaques, naming of roads & buildings and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, is reconstituted as under.” 

Administrative Secretary, Home Department would be the committee’s chairman and Administrative Secretary. Department of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj; Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department; Special Director General of Police, CID, J&K;  Administrative Secretary, General Administration Department, Administrative Secretary, Culture Department and Divisional Commissioner Jammu/Kashmir would be its members, 

It further said that the Committee may co-opt ad-hoc members for any particular proposal, shall be serviced by the General Administration Department and submit its recommendations to the Government for final decision by the Administrative Council. (KNB)
