Srinagar, October 23 (KNB): Union Home minister Rajnath Singh reached Srinagar on his one day visit to the Kashmir Valley.
According to reports that reached to Kashmir News Bureau, “All the mainstream political parties and stake holders are meeting Union Home minister and will submit their memorandum on different issues of ongoing situation.”
If sources to be believed, some political parties met Rajanath Singh Tuesday afternoon and might share their concern over government formation in the state.
Highly placed sources said, “the visit of Home minister after ULB elections is fueling speculations about government formation”.
Earlier, General Secretary of BJP, Ram Madhav visited the state with the same motive and declared that they are going to form a government here in the state. During his visit he held meeting with many MLA’s and even separatists regarding government formation. After which he said that they are just waiting for the Amarnath yatra to end after which decisions regarding government formation will be taken.
Meanwhile, Home minister’s visit to Valley has sparkled the speculations about Government Formation in the state as there are still two-and-a-half years left in the term of the Legislative Assembly.
This will be interesting to see which party joins the meeting and is successful in making an agreement with Home minister for the formation of Government.
The six-year term of the present Legislative Assembly, which is currently in suspended animation, ends in March 2021 and apart from 25 BJP and 28 PDP members, it has 15 from National Conference, 12 from Congress, two from People’s Conference, one each from CPM and Peoples Democratic Front, and three Independents. Apart from this, both PDP and BJP also have one nominated member each.
However, Home Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting the state following conducting security situation of the state and will attend a high-level meeting with Governor Satya Pal Mailk and top civil, and security forces officials. (KNB)
