Srinagar 1 July (KNB): With a slight increase from yesterday’s number, India reported 48,786 novel coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,04,11,634, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Thursday.
As per the morning update from the Ministry of Health today, 1005 people lost their lives due to Covid-19 during the same time, taking the total death across the country to 3,99,459. .
India’s Active Caseload has declined to 5,23,257 and the Active cases constitute 1.72 per cent of total cases, the Health Ministry said.
They said that 2,94,88,918 total recoveries have taken place across the country so far, out of which 61,588 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
Moreover, daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 49th consecutive day, officials said, adding that the recovery rate has increased to 96.97 per cent. Whereas, weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent and currently stands at 2.64 per cent.
As per the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate stands at 2.54 per cent, which stands less than 5 per cent for the 24 consecutive days.
Testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and a total of 41.20 crore tests have been conducted, they said, adding that 33.57 Crore Vaccine Doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. (KNB)
