Srinagar 7 August (KNB): India reported 38,628 new novel coronavirus cases and 617 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
According to the morning update by the Health Ministry, 40,017 patients recovered during the last 24 hours and the recovery rate currently stands at 97.37 per cent. The total recoveries across the country so far has reached 3,10,55,861.
The Health Ministry said that India’s active caseload currently stands at 4,12,153 and the active cases constitute 1.29 per cent of total cases.
As per the Health Ministry, the weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent and currently stands at 2.39 per cent. The daily positivity rate stands at 2.21 per cent which is less than 3 per cent for the last 12 days.
Moreover, the Health Ministry said that India has crossed a significant milestone of administering 50 Cr. vaccine Doses under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
The testing capacity has also been substantially ramped up and a total of 47.83 crore tests have been conducted so far. (KNB)
