8,891 Omicron cases detected so far in the country; active Covid cases stand at over 17 Lakhs

Srinagar 18 January (KNB): India has reported 2,38,018 new cases of Covid19, with 310 covid19 fatalities during the last 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As per the ministry, a total of 3,53,94,882 covid19 patients have recovered so far in the country and 1,57,421 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours across India.
“The active caseload of the country currently stands at 17,36,628,” said the MoHFW.
It further said that the daily positivity rate at present is 14.43 percent and weekly positivity rate remains at 14.92 percent.
The ministry further said that 158.04 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive and 70.54 Cr. total tests have been conducted so far throughout the country.
It was also said that a total of 8,891 Omicron cases have been detected so far in the country with an increase of 8.31% since yesterday. (KNB)
