In Last 3 Years, 630 Militants Killed in 400 Encounters in J&K: MoSHA 

Srinagar 04 August (KNB): In the last three years, 630 militants have been killed in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, said Minister of State Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Wednesday. 

Ria said in the parliament that in 400 operations in J&K, 630 militants have been killed from May 2018 to June 2021. During the period, 85 security forces laid their lives in the line of duty while fighting militants, he said.

He further said that the militant violence has affected Jammu and Kashmir, which is being sponsored from across the border.    

Rai also said the government has taken various steps to put an end to subversive activities and has adopted a zero tolerance policy toward the militancy in J&K.

He further said that efforts have been strengthened against anti-national elements and CASO’s have been intensified in order to tackle the militancy in the valley. 

Besides steps taken against militants in the valley, strict vigil is being kept by security forces on militant sympathisers, who provide support to them, Rai said. (KNB)
