5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits J&K, Epicentre Hindu Kush Afghanistan 

Srinagar 04 August (KNB): An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday afternoon around 16:02:25 IST with its epicentre in Hindu Kush, Afghanistan.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake’s depth was 130 km which hit Wednesday afternoon. The tremors were felt in J&K as the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded 5.3. 

Pertinently, the epicentre of the earthquake was said Hindu Kush, Afghanistan.

However, there were no reports of any casualty or property damage reported from anywhere, especially from rural areas where fragile structures generally remain vulnerable to minor tremors. (KNB)
