Srinagar, November 9 (KNB): A war of words was seen on Twitter between Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic, Basant Rath and the newly-elected Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Junaid Mattu on Friday regarding the traffic Management in the Srinagar city.

Earlier, Junaid Mattu taking the twitter said that “he had been receiving lot of complaints over the traffic management issues in the city. “Have received numerous complaints about traffic mismanagement issues in the city. I have spoken to the SP Traffic (Urban) and sought a review of current traffic diversions and plans. The SMC has been directed to help with decongestion of alternate routes for some relief,” he wrote on Twitter.

In response to this tweet, Rath lashed out at Mattu saying that it was none of his Concern and he should look after the mess SMC needs to clear. He also took the twitter and wrote, “Not your domain. Traffic diversion at Jehangir Chowk is a compulsion. The vendors have created a mess on Amira Kadal-HSHS-Maharaja Bazaz-LD Hospital stretch. SMC needs to clear the mess.”

However, after Rath labeled Mattu as “cabbage “over his comments on Wetlands, Mattu on Thursday said that Rath was “unwell.” (KNB)
