Jammu and Kashmir: Government Formation on Cards

Srinagar, November 9 (KNB): After the PDP-BJP government collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir, a new alliance is likely to happen with the end of Governor’s Rule in Kashmir as there are still two-and-a-half years left in the term of the Legislative Assembly .





If sources to be believed, Closed door meetings are being held in the wake of government formation. “it is confirmed that a new government would be formed in the state as soon as possible.” They added

Meanwhile, No official announcement or names of any particular parties have come out openly about this formation yet. But some political parties are trying to form alliances of their interest and step in as a new Government in the valley.

Earlier, Ram Madhav , the General Secretary of BJP, visited the state with the intention of forming an alliance and declared that they are forming government here in the state . During his visit, he held meetings with MLA’s and regarding government formation. After his meeting he said that they are just waiting for the Amarnath Yatra to end after which decisions regarding government formation will be taken.

On the other hand, Home minister’s visit to Valley after the ULB polls also sparkled the speculations about formation of new Government. Some Political parties met Singh during his Visit and shared their concern regarding government formation in the state.

Now that the results of ULB elections are here and city gets its mayor. Behind the curtain meetings are underway and is fueling supposition of making alliances and in coming day’s announcement of new government in the valley is expected.




However, the six-year term of the present Legislative Assembly, which is currently in suspended animation, ends in March 2021 and apart from 25 BJP and 28 PDP members, it has 15 from National Conference, 12 from Congress, two from People’s Conference, one each from CPM and Peoples Democratic Front, and three Independents. Apart from this, both PDP and BJP also have one nominated member each. (KNB)
