ICDS Supervisors Demands Release of Pending Salary; Appeals LG to Solve the Issue

Srinagar 23 November (KNB): Supervisors working under the social welfare department of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) from Kupwara and Kulgam on Monday complained that they are without salaries from the last six months and the authorities were unmoved.

ICDS supervisors district Kulgam and Kupwara said that their salary is withheld from the last six months.
“We are made to suffer on a daily basis and despite being regular employees of the department we are treated worse than daily wagers,and we are living in starvation” they said.

They said Supervisors are the employees who even worked 24×7 even in pandemic for all the programmes under ICDS like Poshan Abhiyan,PMMVY and Beti Bachavo Beti Padavo,Ladli Beti etc.

They further said that despite working tirelessly in the department, with such a spirit in the field, supervisors’ salaries are pending from the last 6 months.

They also appealed to Lt. Governor and concerned authorities to look into the matter and release the pending salary at an earliest. So that we will not come to the roads for strikes and stop our daily work routines. (KNB)
