One militant identified as slain Sameer Tiger’s cousin
South Kashmir 10 October (KNB): Two militants have been killed in a brief gunfight between government forces and militants in Dadoora Kangan area of Pulwama district.
An official told Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) that a joint team of Police, army’s 55 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
Officials said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Officials have confirmed that one of the militants killed in the encounter has been identified as Zahid Nazir Bhat (aka Zahid Tiger) cousin of slain Hizb-ul-Mujahideen’s top militant Sameer Tiger, and the other militant is a non-local.
