Ensure Medical, Surgical Procedures of Utmost Urgency to be Conducted on Basis of RAT Reports: Director Health

Srinagar 03 February (KNB): Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Thursday ordered for the conducting of Medical and Surgical procedures of utmost urgency on the basis of RAT test reports and not on RT-PCR. 

The step was taken in view of the medical and other surgical procedures getting delayed at the levels of District Hospitals, Sub District Hospitals and other health institutions due to non-availability of RT-PCR test reports.

Dr Rather ordered for the medical and surgical procedures of utmost urgency to be conducted on receipt of the RAT test reports. He further ordered all the Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers and other Incharge Administrators of health institutions to comply with the circular.   

It was also said that the step was taken in the interest of better patient care in view of the surge in Covid19 cases. (KNB)
