Srinagar 1 November (KNB): An encounter is underway between militants and security forces in Rangreth area of Srinagar.
An official said that on basis of specific information about the presence of militants in the area, a Joint team of security forces including Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation.
As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. Exchange of fire is going on, Official said.
Official further said that around two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area. (KNB)
