Srinagar 11 October (KNB): Encounter has started between security forces and militants in Surankote area of Jammu’s Poonch district Monday late morning.
As per an officer, the operation started after CASO was launched in the suspected area, with inputs about the presence of militants.
However, few militants are said to be trapped at the encounter site and after the starting of operation more reinforcement converged towards the spot.
As of now, there are no reports of any casualty inflicted on either side engaged in the gunfight.
The encounter comes on the heels of the one in South Kashmir’s Anantnag and the other one in North Kashmir’s Bandipora. In both the encounters, two militants were killed by the security forces. (KNB)
