Shopian 28 May (KNB): Encounter raged between militants and Government security forces in Ganowpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police officials said that an encounter has started in Ganowpora area of Shopian and security forces are on the job.
Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, a police official said that Police Shopian, 44 RR and 14 Battalion CRPF are engaged in the operation.
“Around 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in the ongoing encounter, he added.
Earlier officials told news agency Kashmir News Bureau that on specific intel about the presence of militants in the area, a cordon and search operation was initiated.(KNB)
