Shopian 28 may (KNB): One militant killed in the encounter at Ganowpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
Police officials said that one unidentified militants has been killed so far and search operation is going on. “Further details shall follow,” officials added.
Moreover, one AK47 riffle has been recovered from the encounter site.
Pertinent to mention that earlier an encounter raged between militants and Government security forces in Ganowpora.
Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, a police official said that Police Shopian, 44 RR and 14 Battalion CRPF are engaged in the operation.
“Around 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in the ongoing encounter, he added.
Earlier officials told KNB that on specific intel about the presence of militants in the area, a cordon and search operation was initiated.(KNB)
