DySP Militant link case: NIA Court grants police remand

Jammu 15 October (KNB): Special Judge NIA Sunit Gupta granted seven days police remand of Tafazul Hussa Parimoo, S/o Abdul Rashid Parimoo, R/o Rehamtabad Peer Bagh Budgam district J&K, who was arrested by NIA in JKP Dy SP militant link case.
Special Judge NIA Sunit Gupta after perusal to the application moved by AIO, observed that in the above case relates to the ferrying of HM militants namely Syed Naveed Mustaq Shah and Rafi Ahmad Rather by DySP JKP Devinder Singh and Irfan Safi Mir, Advocate in a Hyundai i20 car bearing registration JK03H-1738 laden with arms, ammunition and 5 live hand grenades. The Charge sheet of the case has already been produced in the court on July 6, 2020 and further investigation in terms section 173 (8) Cr.PC is still going on.

The relevant entries in the CD file revealed that accused Tafazul Hussain Parimoo supplies weapons, which he used to smuggle from cross border and provided it to the militants of HM in South Kashmir including accused Syed Naveed Mushtaq through accused Tariq Ahmad Mir, accused Shaheen Ahmad Lone and his voice sample needs to be taken as such his Police Custody is imperative to unearth the larger conspiracy.

The court stated that keeping in view the facts and circumstances of present case, gravity and heinousness as involved in present matter, submissions made by the PP/AIO of the NIA, the Court is of considered opinion that Police custody of the accused is imperative to complete investigation and the prayer made by the NIA seems to be genuine and justified which is allowed.

Adding that the above named accused is remanded to Police Custody for a period of 7 days.

The AIO of the case was directed to get medical examination of the accused conducted after every 48 hours during police remand and shall produce the above named accused before the Court after expiry of police remand for further orders. (KNB)
