Devoted to fight for Statehood, Article 370’s Restoration; NC Will Contest Assembly Elections: Dr Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar 08 September (KNB): National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday nudged the central government once again to restore statehood and said that his party would participate in the Assembly elections. 

Abdullah while interacting with reporters in Srinagar on the sidelines of the 39th death anniversary of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah said that they (NC) would participate in the Assembly elections, whenever it is going to be held and would not run away from it. 

He also said that the Centre should restore the statehood before the starting of the Assembly elections. As Farooq Abdullah too remains in the dark about the commencing of elections, which he said to the media persons, the NC’s victory in the coming Assembly polls was also hoped by him.   

However, Abdullah said that his party is devoted to fight for the Statehood and Article 370’s restoration and are united for it. 

Replying to a question of a reporter related to developments in Afghanistan, Abdullah said that Afghanistan is a new country and it has to be now looked after by those who have come there. 

He said that he hopes that they (Taliban) would do justice with everyone and would run a good government there in which they consider human rights and lead the government by Islamic rule. 

Dr Farooq Abdullah added that the Taliban should also try to develop relations with the rest of the world. (KNB)
