The students from CUK’s B. Tech 2nd semester assembled in the Press Enclave and raised slogans to serve justice to them. One of the students told the reporters, as per KNB, that they have been protesting for the past one month regarding the varsity not implementing a guideline of UGC pertaining to students of Ist sem and intermediate ones to be promoted on the basis of internal assessment results.

“The university is not putting the guideline in effect and regarding that we are protesting for the last one month. We have also boycotted all the academic activities in this regard, said one of the students.

He further said that they have also approached senior officials and have even put their concern in the governance grievance cell also, but till date nothing has happened.

“All over India the guidelines of UGC are being followed then why they (CUK) are not adhering to those and are forcing us to give offline exams. At the present situation it is not suitable to give offline exams in the ongoing pandemic,” said a female student, adding that there is also risk of contracting Covid virus during the offline examinations.

She further said that UGC guidelines should be followed by CUK as the varsity itself had told the students that the guidelines would be adhered.

“It is in the guidelines of UGC that promotion of intermediate semester students should be done on the basis of their internal assessments, but our university is not following the same and has even issued a date sheet for offline examinations, which is going to start from September,” she said.

Later, the students further reiterated that their promotions should be done on internal assessments basis, which as per them is one of the guidelines of UGC. (KNB)
