Srinagar 31 May (KNB): Srinagar Municipal Corporator Danish Bhat on Monday paid a surprise visit to Ward Office Lalbazar area of the city to take stock of the ongoing vaccination drive for priority group.
After the visit, Bhat told news agency Kashmir News Bureau that there is a poor response from people, as such the data at the centre shows.
“Vaccination drive for priority group such as essential service workers, vegetable, fruit vendors, bakers etc. is going on at the centre. But as I went through the data of past few days, not more than 15-25 people per day have been vaccinated, which is quite worrisome,” he said, adding that the maximum number of people vaccinated in a day does not cross the 30 mark.
Bhat further requested the people to take the jab and said that getting vaccinated is the only way to defeat the deadly virus.
The SMC Corporator also said that the Centre is not centrally located and also requested the SMC Commissioner Athar Amir Khan for it’s relocation.
Bhat said, “I noticed that the vaccination centre is not centrally located, hence it is important to shift it to a location for the convenience of the residents.”
“I request Commissioner SMC, Amir Khan to relocate it to some other location, preferably Botshah Mohalla Masjid. People can reach there easily and get vaccinated.” (KNB)
