Srinagar 16 April(KNB): In a tragic incident early this morning, a boat carrying several Persons, including minors, capsized in the River Jhelum near the Gandbal Nowgam area of Srinagar resulting in three deads, and several people missing, reports said.
The boat, which was ferrying locals from Gandbal to Batwara, encountered trouble in the waters of the Jhelum River.
Eyewitnesses told that the boat overturned, plunging its passengers into the river. The exact number of individuals on board is currently unknown, but several are reported missing.
Local authorities have launched a comprehensive rescue operation, with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other agencies actively searching for survivors.
