A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that the rally witnessed massive participation and has been a major step in raising awareness among youth and public at large to stay away from Drugs.
“In between sweets and more than 6000 pamphlets and stickers with a message about drug abuse were distributed on many contact points while interacting with youth,” statement said.
During the event, he emphasised that drugs are silent killers that ruin the society as a whole and that youth should take responsibility towards their society by involving themselves in positive social and physical activities.
He also encouraged youth of Bandipora to form youth clubs which are being supported by District Administration Bandipora so that the youth of Bandipora can pursue their hobbies while spreading message of social importance.
He said fighting drug menace is collective responsibility of all including the government and the people as it concerns everybody.
“The drug abuse is silently destroying the lives of thousands of youths across the valley and has disturbed our social fabric. It is high time for all of us to unequivocally rise as one against this menace and fight,” he said.
He urged the people to report about such practices quickly to the concerned law enforcing agencies so that preventive measures are taken.
