Suspected Militants Open Fire in Srinagar; Man Injured

Srinagar 17 February (KNB): Suspected militants opened fire on a man in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Officials said that suspected militants fired at a man in Sonwar area of Srinagar in the evening.

The man sustained injury and was removed to a Hospital, where the doctors said that his condition is critical, officials added.

As per reports, injured man was 22 year old Aakash Mehra, son of Ramesh Mehra the owner of Krishna Dhaba located in the said area. 

Meanwhile, heavy deployment of forces was seen around the area, which has been cordoned off in order to nab the attackers.

Pertinent to mention that a delegation of European Union envoys visited the Valley to assess the situation after the removal of special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 (KNB)
