Srinagar, February 6 (KNB): The Deputy Director Law and Enforcement Kashmir has ordered the seizure of a misbranded pesticide, Indofil M-45,
The order (No. DDLE/2024-25/1360-68) was issued to the Law Enforcement Inspector, Srinagar, after the pesticide was tested and declared misbranded by the Agriculture Chemist at Lalmandi, Srinagar, according to an order obtained by Kashmir News Bureau.
The findings were officially communicated through letter ACK/P/2024-25/4405-07, dated January 25, 2025, and confirmed by the Assistant Director of Law Enforcement.
The misbranded product, which contains Mancozeb 75% WP, was manufactured on December 13, 2024, and was set to expire on December 12, 2026. The pesticide, bearing batch number CMZ24-660, was marketed by Indofil Industries Limited.
Under the provisions of The Insecticides Act, 1968, authorities have been directed to seize all stocks of the pesticide immediately. The enforcement team has also been instructed to report compliance to the issuing office for official records and further action.(KNB)
