Srinagar 23 October (KNB): Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in the Union Territory of J&K on Saturday late morning for a three day visit, during which he would remain busy with activities dedicated in his schedule.

Shah was today welcomed by LG Manoj Sinha and is going to chair a high level meeting on the security scenario in J&K. Besides, Shah is expected to lay the foundation of a couple of Medical Colleges with flagging off a direct flight from Srinagar-Sharjah by him also expected.

Ahead of Amit Shah’s visit to J&K, the security was stepped up with unusual scenes related to security unfolding in the recent days in the summer capital Srinagar.

It is Home Minister’s first visit to UT J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and comes after the recent civilian killings in the valley, therefore Shah’s meeting in the backdrop of it would be unthinkable without taking into account such incidents.

In addition to some inauguration expected from Shah during his visit, it is also believed that he would address a public rally in Jammu tomorrow.

On Amit Shah’s visit as inclement weather has already hampered the movement of public and transport on roads quite considerably, a traffic notice was days ago issued by traffic police mentioning that Badyari to Nishat & Gupkar road will remain closed for general traffic in connection with the visit of VVIP from 23 to 25 October 2021.
