Bandipora, May 3(KNB): The Aloosa Tehsil office in Bandipora is marred by allegations of negligence and slow administrative processes, leaving residents frustrated and helpless. Despite repeated complaints, the office staff’s indifference and lack of accountability have resulted in unnecessary delays in basic services.
A recent case highlighted the office’s inefficiency, where a Bandipora court-ordered report regarding a road at Aloosa was supposed to be submitted by December 23, 2024. However, the tehsil office delayed the process, citing the unavailability of the Tehsildar. The concerned party made multiple visits to the office, only to be met with excuses and further delays.
It wasn’t until after almost four months of persistent follow-ups that the tehsil office finally submitted the report to the court, said local to Kashmir News Bureau
“It was a clear case of negligence. The tehsil office had no regard for the court’s orders or our time,” said a another local familiar with the case.
Another resident faced disappointment when seeking attestation of an agreement. After waiting for almost two hours, the official didn’t provide a proper hearing.
These experiences are not isolated, with several locals voicing similar concerns. The tehsil staff’s alleged indifference and slow response have forced people to either return multiple times.
Locals have also alleged that Aloosa doesn’t have its own Tehsildar, with the Bandipora Tahsildar given charge of Aloosa. The Tahsildar is only available two days a week, further exacerbating the situation.
Despite repeated calls by Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, the Tehsildar Aloosa couldn’t be contacted for his comments.
The locals are urging higher authorities to take note of the administrative inefficiency in Aloosa Tehsil and ensure timely and transparent service delivery to the public.(KNB)
