Bandipora 19 November (KNB): Anti Corruption Bureau produced a Charge-Sheet in case FIR 08/2019 u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2),4-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act Samvat 2006 of P/S ACB Kashmir, against Abdul Aziz Bhat the then Executive Engineer R&B Division Bandipora.
Officials stated that the instant case was registered on the basis of a written complaint lodged in Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau, wherein it was alleged that the complainant has executed and completed the works of R&B Division, Bandipora, but Abdul Aziz Bhat, the then Executive Engineer Bandipora was not releasing the payments.
The complainant requested him several times, but he did not release the payment of Rs.5,18,089 without bribe and finally Abdul Aziz demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for the release of the payment of bill for Rs.5,18,089, officials stated.
They said that after registration a Case FIR No. 08/2019 P/S ACB, a trap team was constituted and the Services of independent witness were utilised.
Officials further stated that on 26-04-2019, accused Abdul Aziz Bhat, the then Executive Engineer R&B Division Bandipora was arrested red handed while demanding and accepting an amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant.
The Investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the aforementioned accused public servant for launching prosecution and the chargesheet was produced in the court of law, officials stated.
ACB stated that the next date of hearing has been fixed on 26-12-2020. (KNB)
