Jammu, June 21 (KNB): The Wrestling Association of Jammu and Kashmir (WAJK), in collaboration with the Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association, is set to organize the U-23 J&K UT Wrestling Championship for Men and Women at Jammu from July 10 to July 12, 2026.
According to the organizers, the championship will serve as a selection event for the J&K UT Wrestling Team that will represent the Union Territory in the forthcoming U-23 National Wrestling Championship.
All eligible wrestlers from across Jammu and Kashmir, both boys and girls, have been invited to participate in the championship. Wrestlers born in eligible age categories can take part, while those born in 2008 will be required to submit a valid Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a competent authority.
Participants have been asked to report at the venue on the scheduled dates along with the necessary documents, including a photocopy of the birth certificate issued by the Municipal Authority, Aadhaar Card, Medical Fitness Certificate (where applicable) and two recent passport-size photographs.
The organizers said the championship aims to identify and promote talented wrestlers from Jammu and Kashmir and provide them with an opportunity to compete at the national level.
