Srinagar, May 25 (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the regularization and promotion of 17 In-charge Information Officers and Assistant Information Officers as Information Officers and equivalent in the Information Department.
According to Government Order No. 17-JK(ID) of 2026 dated May 25, 2026, the promotions have been made following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee and the J&K Public Service Commission.
The order states that the promoted officers will be placed in Pay Level-8 (₹47,600–1,51,100). Three officers — Showket Ahmad Khan, Riyaz Ahmad Fazili, and Parshotam Dass — have been regularized with effect from September 5, 2018, while the promotions of the remaining officers shall take effect prospectively.
The government further clarified that the promotions shall remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts of law. The officers have also been directed to continue at their present places of posting until further orders. (KNB)
