Srinagar 08 January (KNB): Bijbehara administration on Friday wrote to police for registering of FIR against ten leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for “violation of Covid19 SOPs” after organising a rally on the eve of the death anniversary of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at Padshah Bagh Zirpara area of Bijbehara.

The PDP leaders who were sought to be booked under FIR include Abdul Rehman Bhat (Veeri), Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, Najmun Saqib, Sartaj Madni, Majid Ahmad Khan, Abdul Majeed Rangraiz, Showkat Ahmad Teeli, Mufti Sarwar, Arshid Ahmad Ganie and Nazir Ahmad Vaid.

Following the development, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, “Covid 19 restrictions apply only to PDP. Not to BJP’s protest in Kashmir yesterday, PMs rally in Punjab or the mass poojas attended by hundreds of people to pray for his safety. Talks volumes about J&K admin’s brazen bias against my party.” (KNB)
