Srinagar 9 August (KNB): There have been 33 infiltration attempts along the India-Pakistan Border in which 11 Infiltrators were killed during 2021 upto 30th of June.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, Secretary of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt in a written reply to Dr Sasmit Patra in Rajya Sabha on Monday provided the information- based on the reports of Security Forces/Ministry of Home Affairs- regarding the infiltration attempts along the International Border.
As per the information, along the India-Pakistan border there have been 33 infiltration attempts, 11 infiltrators were killed and 20 infiltrators were apprehended.
Along the India-Bangladesh border, there have been 441 infiltration attempts, one infiltrator was killed and 740 infiltrators were apprehended.
In addition, 11 illegal infiltrators along Indo-Nepal Border have been apprehended in this year upto 30th June.
It was further informed that no cases of infiltration have been reported at Indo-China Border and at the Indo-Myanmar Border, post military coup which came into effect from 1 January 2021, 8486 Myanmar nationals/refugees crossed over into India, out of which 5796 were pushed back and 2690 are still in the country.
It was further stated that infiltrators apprehended by the Border Guarding Forces are handed over to the concerned State Police. (KNB)
