Srinagar 1 October (KNB): One unidentified militant has been killed by security forces in an encounter on Friday morning in South Kashmir Shopian’s Rakhama area, said Police.
The encounter started in the Rakhama area of Shopian in the wee hours of the morning after launching of cordon and search operation in a suspected area following having inputs about the presence of militants there.
In the ensuing gunfight between the two sides, one of the trapped militants was killed by security forces.
However, the officials said that the operation is still in progress, suggesting the presence of more militants at the encounter site. (KNB)
