Srinagar 14 December (KNB): The death toll of Zewan attack has reached three after one of the injured cops among 12 others succumbed to his injuries at 92 base hospital at Badami Bagh.
The attack took place last evening at Zewan area of Srinagar’s outskirts when militants opened fire upon a police vehicle who as per reports was heading toward the Armed Police Complex.
In the attack a total of 14 cops were injured among whom two personnel – ASI and Constable – died of their injuries immediately after the incident.
However, rest of the injured cops were under treatment at the Army’s 92 base hospital at Badami Bagh. Among the 12 injured personnel, a constable, Rameez Ahmad, is said to have succumbed to his injuries.
The Zewan attack was roundly condemned by the LG Manoj Sinha and leaders of different regional political parties as well. (KNB)
