Zaloora Encounter Case Closed: LeT Commander Saifullah Eliminated Says Police

Srinagar 20 March(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that the Zaloora encounter case has been solved with the elimination of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Saifullah.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, Police said that Saifullah, an “A” category foreign terrorist, was killed in an intelligence-based operation on March 17 in Handwara. Investigations revealed his involvement in the January 19, 2025, Zaloora encounter, which resulted in the martyrdom of a security forces personnel.

The LeT commander had been actively working to revive the terror outfit’s network along the Handwara-Sopore axis. His elimination is seen as a major success in the fight against terrorism in North Kashmir, statement added.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of the region, they further said.(KNB)
