Young SP Pani takes over charge as IGP Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNB): Recently promoted IPS officer, Swayam Prakash Pani SP Pani Monday took over charge as Inspector General of Police Kashmir. At 41, Pani is the youngest officer ever to hold the post. He is a 2000-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. Pani’s name was given the go-ahead by J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in a Cabinet meeting last week.

Pani has served at key positions including DIG south Kashmir range, SSP Kulgam and SSP Kathua.

Besides he has also served in NIA as DIG. He has replaced Muneer Ahmad Khan, who was holding the charge of IGP Kashmir, who has been appointed as ADGP security and home guards. (KNB)
