With 4.14 Lakh Covid Cases, India Records Highest Single Day Spike

Srinagar 7 May (KNB): 4,14,188 new novel coronavirus cases were reported across the nation, which is the highest ever single day spike so far, taking the total tally of confirmed Covid-19 cases 2,14,91,598.

As per Union Ministry data, India witnessed 3,915 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count due to the deadly virus to 2,34,083.

The Ministry said that the National Mortality Rate has been falling and currently stands at 1.09%.

Ten States account for 74.48% of the new deaths. with 853 deaths, Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties followed by Uttar Pradesh 350 daily deaths, officials said.

India’s total Active Caseload has reached 36,45,164, officials said. 

As per the data, with 62,194 Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases followed by Karnataka with 49,058 while Kerala reported 42,464 new cases.

However, the cumulative number of Covid19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 16.49 Cr today as the Phase-3 of the nationwide Vaccination Drive expands further, Ministry said.

They said that More than 23 lakh vaccination doses were administered in the last 24 hours. (KNB)
