Srinagar 13 April (KNB): Chief Engineer Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Chief Engineer Aijaz Ahmad Dar on Tuesday said they would try to stop the power curtailments during Iftar and Sehri times in Kashmir.
Dar said that they have already withdrawn 50% of power curtailments in some areas where the load has reduced. “If the load is going to lessen further, we will try to stop curtailments in power during Iftar and sehri times in the valley,” said Chief Engineer KPDCL.
About the issuing of an hour based power schedule, he said that they are currently working upon the same.
As some of the political parties of J&K of late demanded uninterrupted power supply during Ramadan, the power department is also in the pursuit of keeping the supply without any interruptions, said Dar.
He further said that their attempt has been and will be to give uninterrupted electricity first to Metered areas than to Non-metered ones
Dar also assured that they are trying their best to provide electricity without interruption in the month of Ramadan. (KNB)
