ViralVideo: ‘Army Rifleman Forced to Make Fake Accusations

Srinagar, May 13(KNB): A video circulating on social media, purportedly showing Rifleman Dilhair Mushtaq making accusations against the Indian Army, has been termed as fake by fact-checking agency PBI.

Rifleman Mushtaq has been missing since March 3, 2025, while on leave. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway, according to sources.

Sources indicate that the soldier appears to be speaking under pressure, likely coerced by anti-national forces. The manner in which the accusations were delivered suggests he may be in captivity or under extreme duress.

The 31-year-old soldier, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi and a resident of Sofigund, near Arapal, was last seen at his aunt’s house in Waskura, Ganderbal.

Sources said that security agencies are investigating the matter, treating it as a possible case of abduction and psychological coercion.

Meanwhile, his family has filed a formal complaint at the Waskura Police Post on March 11, 2025, seeking assistance in tracing his whereabouts.(KNB)
