Udhampur Police Adopts GPS Anklet to Monitor Accused on Interim Bail

Udhampur, 31 December (KNB): The Udhampur Police has adopted GPS tracking technology to closely monitor the movements of an accused individual granted interim bail.

The decision to install a GPS tracker anklet, a wearable device affixed around the ankle was implemented following a court order dated 27-12-2023 by the 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu (NIA Court).

The accused identified as Khursheed Ahmed, is facing charges under sections 17, 18, 39, and 40 of UAPA along with Sections 121 and 122 IPC. The case (FIR No. 97/2022) was registered at Police Station Udhampur.

The GPS tracker anklet serves as a tool for real-time monitoring, enabling law enforcement to track and ensure the accused’s compliance with the conditions of interim bail.-KNB
