Srinagar, Sep 15(KNB) : The 4 Canon C.E. Tyndale-Biscoe Invitational Football Tournament organised by Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Society: sponsored by Genius Career Consultancy commenced today. 15 of September, 2025 in the Sheikh-Bagh campus. Eighteen schools of the valley are participating in the event. The game. Introduced into the valley by the founder of Biscoe school. has become a popular sport in Kashmir.
The inauguration ceremony commenced at 11:30 AM with a cultural programme. followed by unveiling of the trophy by all the dignitaries. The releasing of colourful balloons into the sky symbolised joy. unity and the spirit of new beginning which was followed by a ceremonial march past of participating teams.
The opening ceremony saw the participation of the Chief Guest Director. DSEK. Dr. G.N. Itoo along with Guest of Honour Mr. Akramullah Tak (JKAS) Additional Commissioner with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir: Mr. Rahul Rex Kaul Director TBMS. Ms. Mabel Yonzon Principal TBMS. Principal TBMS. Ms. Mabel Yonzon welcomed the guests and said that the present teams represent the future of football. Dignitaries were felicitated with a token of appreciation by Director TBMS. Mr. Rahul Rex Kaul. The school Sports Captain lead the teams in taking the pledge and reminding the players to play with honour and uphold the values of teamwork and fair play. The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the players and laid stress that games play an important part in the overall development of students. He appreclated the efforts of the school in carrying forward the legacy of Biscoe while providing a platform for athletes to prove themselves on the field. Guest of Honour. Mr. Akramullah Tak (JKAS). The first match was played between St. Joseph’ School. Baramulla and DPS. Budgam. The players exhibited professional skill in the football field and played exceptionally well. The match proved to be a thrilling encounter. concluding in a draw with both teams scoring 1 goal each. The match proceeded to a tie breaker where St. Joseph displayed composure and precision to score 6 goals against DPS’s 5. With this narrow yet decisive margin. St. Joseph emerged victorious. Man of the Match was awarded to Owals Irshad from St. Joseph’s School.
The second match was played between New Bonvivant School and Doon School. Doon took the early lead through a quick strike in the first half. However, the match took a dramatic turn in the second half. New Bonvivant came back with renewed energy and determination. Their persistence paid off as they scored 1 quick goal turning the scoreline to 1-1. The second match of the tournament again reached a tie breaker where New Bonvivant School scored 5 goals against 6 goals of Doon School. Man of the Match was awarded to Hadi Amin from Doon School.
